Founder of Thoughts For Food

After 12 years as a strategic planner in advertising agencies, I founded Thoughts For Food to bring my strategic expertise, my understanding of brands and consumers, and my culinary know-how to the food industry.

Thoughts For Food also grew out of a much more personal connection to cooking.

I come from a line of women who cooked and passed on to me their love of cooking and good food. In our family, cooking was neither a performance nor a silent obligation, but a language, a way of sharing and passing things on.

This is where my interest in how culinary practices evolve over time comes from.

I am particularly interested in how younger generations embrace our culinary heritage, transform it and reinvent it according to their aspirations, desires and the constraints of their everyday lives.

Their culinary repertoire is also expanding considerably under the influence of cuisines from around the world, now much more accessible and widely shared through social media. Recipes, ingredients, combinations and uses circulate, intersect and blend, creating a new fluidity between culinary cultures.

These changes are transforming tastes, practices and expectations of food products. They are also a tremendous source of inspiration for imagining new products, new uses and new combinations.

Observing what endures, disappears, becomes simpler or is reinvented in culinary practices also offers a glimpse of the food products of tomorrow and the place they will have in our kitchens and on our plates.
